Bookmobile: Youth and Family

Youth and Family Engagement mobile vehicles serve children and families throughout Baltimore County, with a focus on those experiencing barriers to accessing library services.

Materials Requests

The Youth and Family Engagement mobile vehicles are stocked with a variety of materials. Mobile vehicle and branch staff are able to assist with requests for books and other materials by selecting the Mobile-Youth/Family option from the pickup location dropdown.

Returns

Vehicles can accept returns from any branch, and materials checked out from a mobile vehicle may be returned to any branch.

For Childcare Providers

Each month, bookmobiles deliver curated deposit collections to childcare providers across Baltimore County. With special focus on new and seasonal materials, this service allows providers to supplement their classwork without having to travel to a library branch. 

For Communities

After school and during the summer months, the Youth and Family Engagement mobile vehicles visit neighborhoods to serve youth of all ages and their families who are experiencing barriers to accessing library resources. Staff provide materials, activities and technology to support out-of-school-time learning. Vehicles can accept returns from any branch, and materials checked out from a mobile vehicle may be returned to any branch.
