Adult Reading Challenge Returns to the Library

  • September 01, 2026
  • By Baltimore County Public Library

Pick a square, pick a book and start reading! B Well-Read Bingo runs Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, October 30. This year’s adult reading challenge gives you opportunities to celebrate America's 250th anniversary, explore new authors, find a true love story and more. Complete a bingo and earn a limited-edition tote bag.

Register and Play

There are two ways to play.

Play Online With Beanstack

This interactive game board tracks your activity to earn badges. Once you join, you can click on the bingo card and select any square to see that square's challenge. To celebrate the 250th anniversary, categories include reading a book about American history, reading a book with Maryland ties, reading a biography or memoir about a famous American or reading a book set in one of the 50 states. After completing the square’s challenge, you earn the badge for that square.

Complete a Paper Game Board

Beginning September 8, grab a paper game board at any open branch and start playing or download the game board (PDF).

Reading Suggestions

If you need help finding books to fit the categories, some of the bingo squares have suggested titles to get you started, like finding something romantic or an author’s debut, or you can ask staff at the service desk for suggestions.

Completion Prizes

Finish the challenge by completing any row across, down or diagonally. If you play on Beanstack, you earn a bingo badge. Visit any branch by Friday, October 30, to pick up your tote, while supplies last. If you played on a paper game board, bring your completed game board with you.
