This global observance celebrates the contributions of people of African descent and calls for the protection of their rights and dignity around the world. This curated collection features fiction, nonfiction, short stories, and more for children, teens, and adults. These titles celebrate and uplift the diverse histories, cultures, and voices of Africans and the global African diaspora. In Baltimore County, we are proud to honor and celebrate our African and African American communities and to share stories that reflect their experiences through the power of books.
