Teen Advisory Boards Invite You to Project Programming

Why TAB?
Teen Advisory Boards (TAB) are groups of dedicated middle and high school volunteers selected through an application process. These volunteers meet monthly to discuss project ideas, socialize, and develop leadership skills. TAB members have the opportunity to earn required service-learning hours while exploring their community’s needs and discovering how the library can help meet those needs.
Our Teen Advisory Boards support the library’s mission to provide opportunities to explore, learn, create, and connect, while also embodying our core values of inclusion, community engagement, and empowerment. Through their involvement, TAB members contribute to our vision of creating a more inclusive and connected community by directly impacting programs, services, and initiatives that meet the evolving needs of local teens and families.
If you are interested in applying for one of our Summer Teen Advisory Boards, keep an eye out for online applications from April 1 to 30. For more information, contact our Youth and Family Engagement department at yfe@bcpl.net.
Beyond TAB
Our teen offerings go beyond Teen Advisory Boards (TAB). Teens can also enjoy the library by attending programs, using computers and gaming equipment, or simply hanging out in the teen areas to study, read, or meet up with friends. The library offers additional opportunities for teens to earn service-learning hours, allowing them to engage with their community while gaining valuable experience. Visit the teen page or head to your branch to learn more.
