Support the Library’s School Supply Drive

  • August 04, 2025
  • By Baltimore County Public Library

Back-to-school season is quickly approaching, and as a community connector, we strive to even the playing field to make sure every child has the same opportunity to succeed. This includes having the necessary supplies to start the school year strong. We are proud to partner with The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) to hold a supply drive from Monday, August 11 through Saturday, September 13. The supplies collected play a crucial role in supporting teachers to stock their classrooms with basic items some students may not be able to afford while alleviating the financial burden of purchasing supplies themselves.

Supplies to Collect

While any supplies are appreciated, we are asking for new items only. Supplies include:

Book Bags  Erasers Markers Pens Scissors
Colored Pencils Folders Notebook Paper Post-it Notes Three-ring Binders
Crayons Glue Sticks Pencils Reward Stickers
Dividers Highlighters Pencil Case Rulers

Next Steps

Customers can bring the school supplies to our 19 branches during normal business hours, which are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drop off the items in any of the bins labeled school supply drive.

Lifelong Learning

After dropping off the school supplies, we invite you to stick around our branches to see how you can explore, learn, create and connect. We have dozens of free programs weekly, research databases to help students prepare for the school year and a large digital library to enjoy, including streaming, ebooks and audiobooks.
