Customers Can Now Reserve Study Rooms Online
After a successful pilot program in summer 2024, we are excited to announce study rooms are now able to be reserved online. These dedicated spaces are perfect for individuals or small groups up to 10 who need a quiet and comfortable environment for collaboration, study sessions, tutoring or personal work. Whether you are taking part in a job interview, organizing a group project or practicing for a presentation, our study rooms provide the ideal setting. By improving our process to include online reservations, we are offering our cardholders the convenience and flexibility to remotely book a room. This update is designed to make planning easier and more efficient, ensuring you have the space you need when you need it.

How It Works
With this new system, anyone with a library card can now make a reservation 24 hours in advance of when the study room is needed. Along with online bookings, customers can still reserve a room over the phone or at the service desk during branch hours. Reservations are available in 15-minute increments with a maximum of one hour reserved per customer per 24 hours. Based on availability, customers can request to reserve the room an additional hour at the service desk after the original block of time has expired.
Find a Study Room
Study rooms are available at 11 of our branches throughout the system. This includes brand-new study rooms at our Parkville-Carney Branch, and our North Point Branch is adding rooms this spring. More information, including number of rooms at each branch, room capacity and reservation links can be found on our Meeting and Study Room page.

Quiet Areas
When study rooms may not be available or if you just need a quiet space, the majority of our branches also have designated quiet areas with workstations or tables for independent studying or reading with no sign-up required. A fireplace is the focal point of each quiet area at the Arbutus and Perry Hall branches.
21st Century Spaces
21st century libraries are more than quiet spaces designed for browsing or reading books. We are community hubs that reflect and celebrate the vibrant communities we are a part of. This includes live music, video games and interactive programming. At the same time, we recognize the importance of quieter spaces. Our new study rooms and designated quiet areas provide visitors with the option to enjoy a more traditional library setting when they need it.
