Calling All Teens! Apply for the Summer Teen Advisory Boards.
If you want to make a real impact at your library, we’re looking for passionate and driven teens to help shape programs, services and new initiatives for you and your peers! Applications are now open for our Summer Teen Advisory Board (TAB) through Wednesday, April 30. This unique opportunity teaches teens to explore, learn, create and connect while earning service-learning hours.

Members of TAB:
- Gain leadership and teamwork skills.
- Create a teen-led community service project.
- Advise local branches with ideas for programs, services and initiatives for teen customers.
- Earn service-learning hours.
- Make new friends.
A few previous TAB projects include making dog toys for the ASPCA, sprucing up the landscape surrounding the library, holding SAT parties, organizing video game competitions and more.
Expectations
Summer TAB is a minimum 10-hour commitment (more hours may be scheduled and offered as needed). Teens that are selected are expected to:
- Attend meetings throughout the summer at their selected branch.
- Actively participate in the creation of a community service project.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Communicate with coordinators and peers.
How to Apply
TAB members are selected based upon a variety of criteria, including thoughtful and thorough completion of the application, timely submission of the application and availability. Up to 15 teens will be selected for each branch. All applicants will be notified of their application status by Friday, May 16.
