Weigh in on the New Essex Library
The Essex Branch is getting a new building, and the architects are looking to the community for contributions to the planning effort. We want to hear from community members on what’s important to you in order to complete a design study. The goal is to create a library that serves as a future center of learning and opportunity for all community members.
Potential Ideas
Some ideas for the future of the branch include, but are not limited to:
- Children, tween and teen spaces
- Display/exhibition space
- Lounge seating
- Meeting rooms
- Outdoor areas for reading
- Quiet reading room
How to Weigh In
Come see what today’s 21st century libraries look like across the country with Quinn Evans, the architects for the project. We are holding two community input meetings at our Essex Branch, where you can provide feedback on what you’d like to see featured at the new Essex Branch, slated to be built on Old Eastern Avenue. Light refreshments will be served.
- Wednesday, January 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, January 9, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
If You Cannot Make It
If you’re unable to make it to one of the input meetings, we still want to hear from you. Fill out this survey by Thursday, January 16. It is also available in Spanish. Come “Be All In” with us as we design what the future of the Essex Branch could look like!
