The BIG Give: Be a Part of Something BIG

Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library is once again hosting The BIG Give to raise additional funds for vital projects to the 21st century library—and it's bigger than ever. From May 1 to June 30, all gifts made to the Foundation will have 100 percent impact! One hundred percent of these gifts will go directly to library programs and services—no salaries, no overhead, no fancy fundraising event expenses. Donations can be made online to support Baltimore County Public Library initiatives, such as our award-winning, long-term lending efforts in providing computers and secure, stable internet access for students, the elderly and other vulnerable populations. Through this work, the library is improving study environments, enhancing social interaction, making telehealth possible and simplifying online job applications.

Trip to Library of Congress

For every gift received between May 1 and June 30, the donor is entered into a drawing to win an exclusive, guided tour of the Library of Congress and a copy of "America's Greatest Library: An Illustrated History of the Library of Congress." (Some restrictions apply. See full contest rules for details).

Brews for the BIG Give

To further support this effort, Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library has partnered with local breweries Pooles Island Brewing Company in Middle River and BC Brewery in Hunt Valley for Brews for the BIG Give, special events supporting the library throughout May and June. Every Tuesday in May, Pooles Island Brewing Company is generously donating 10 percent of their total profits to the Foundation. The Foundation will be on hand with giveaways and prizes, including signed copies of Lisa Scottoline's brand-new book "The Truth About the Devlins" and limited-edition BIG Give pint glasses, while supplies last. On Tuesday, May 21, local band The Wafflers provides live music from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Then, on Friday, June 28, the Foundation kicks off the final weekend of The BIG Give at BC Brewery with more prizes and giveaways. BC Brewery is also donating 10 percent of their total profits from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Other Ways to Participate

You can also stop by the Foundation's table at the Summer Reading Challenge Kick Off on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cockeysville Branch to enter a pick-a-prize raffle.
