Register to Vote at Your Library
Imagine getting a backstage pass to shaping our country’s playlist. That’s exactly what Americans get the chance to do during elections. In order to take part, you must first register to vote. Because our library is an “instrument of democracy,” we believe in providing our communities with a safe, nonpartisan space. We value intellectual freedom and are proud to participate in National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) on Tuesday, September 19.
About National Voter Registration Day
It’s the nation’s biggest nonpartisan, civic holiday, during which organizations and volunteers across the country participate in a voter registration drive aimed at registering voters. The goal is to get every eligible American registered for the next election. The day also seeks to make sure voters are aware of Maryland-specific registration deadlines and policies.
Who Can Register
Any American who is 18 or older or has become a citizen can register to vote. However, this day is also important for people to update their registration for a number of reasons, including moving to a new address, changing their name or changing political parties.
You can register online or print an application at any of our 18 open branches. We will have staff wearing NVRD stickers that are able to help, or head to our service desks. For additional information, visit Baltimore County Board of Elections or League of Women Voters of Maryland
