Baltimore County Public Library has made a commitment to serve its
increasingly multilingual population. Korean, Russian, and Spanish
materials
have been purchased for the library branches. This site will help speakers of these
languages to find library services, community services, and
links to web resources in their own language.
Foreign Language Collections

Korean -
Cockeysville,
Parkville and
Towson
have fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children.
Russian - Russian materials for adults and
children can be found at
Pikesville,
Randallstown
and
Reisterstown.
Small collections of
entertainment or
feature two-day DVDs
in Russian for adults are available at Pikesville and Reisterstown.
Spanish - Children's books, mainly picture
books, in Spanish and bi-lingual Spanish and English can be found at all
branches.
Catonsville,
Essex,
North Point,
Perry Hall
and
Towson
have collections of fiction and non-fiction for adults and older children
and a small collection of
two-day loan entertainment DVDs.
Learning languages: Many Baltimore County Public
Library branches have books, CDs, and DVDs in
other languages to help you learn a language or to master English as a
second language.
If you need any assistance please stop by at the Information Desk and the
librarians will be happy to help you.
Language Line

The library provides translations for customers who may
not be fluent in English. Questions can be answered in over 140
languages using an over-the-phone translation service. Call or visit
any of our
libraries
or departments of the library
and
staff
members will use the service to
assist you.

MPOWER CARD,
visit the Circulation Desk or Borrower Services Desk at
any Baltimore County Public Library branch. Phone registration
is not available. A temporary library e-card number is available by
registering
online.
You may fill out the library card application available in Korean
[PDF] before your visit to help with the registration process. Please
bring valid
current
identification. The library staff will complete your application and
immediately issue your card. Your signature on the card is
required and indicates your agreement to abide by the rules and
regulations of Baltimore County Public Library.
