A Helping Hand in Hard Times
Baltimore County has developed this directory of the most frequently used links for residents with major human services issues.


Baltimore County Child Care Resource and Referral Center
Child Care Links is committed to expanding and enhancing the quality of child care in Baltimore County by helping parents, child care providers, and the community understand and implement the indictors of quality enabling all children to receive optimum early care and education experiences. Provides resources, training and referrals for quality child care.

Baltimore County Department of Aging- Services for Seniors
The Baltimore County Senior Information and Assistance (Senior I&A) is the primary means to obtain information about services and benefits available to seniors., their families and caregivers. Trained, nationally certified (CIRS) Information and Referral staff provide comprehensive screening, information on benefits, and referrals to appropriate agencies and programs. The Senior I&A office maintains a computerized resource directory to assist in locating services.

Links to community organizations that can help provide necessary information about life's important issues. An Interagency Cooperative Project of the Baltimore County Children and Youth Council and the Baltimore County Public Library

Focus on the First Years: Baltimore County Library and Baltimore County Government
This collaboratively produced portal focuses on the well-being of the County's youngest residents. Links to school, health, and social services resources are given.  Information on Birth to 5 reading programs, early literacy resources and other human services topics for children are provided.

Maryland Problem Solver- Resources for Maryland Families
A state-sponsored portal offering qualifying citizens help to locate and access a range of State assistive programs and services.

Maryland Community Services Locator
The feature of this site are comprehensive listings of resources in areas such as foreclosure assistance, health care, medical assistance, adult education, and legal services.

Street Card: Resource Guide for Helping the Homeless
Handy pocket guide to available services in the area. Produced by the Baltimore County Public Library.

Veteran Services
Links to resources in Baltimore County as well as Federal sites which are of importance to veterans and their families. Areas covered include employment, housing, mental health and health care. An extensive list of organizations both public and private that provide services to former members of the military and their families is also included. A collaborative project, involving Federal, State and County government agencies as well as nonprofit organizations.
