Next all the apartments are rated with Cheap Scale(R), indicating the affordability of each property relative to similar nearby properties. This calculation accounts for rental rates and unit sizes but not quality or location considerations.

  • Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program (HPRP)
    The Maryland Department of Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development provides limited grants or loans to households with a pending eviction, and in some jurisdictions, support counselors who work with tenants and landlords to prevent evictions.

  • HOPE - Homeowners Preserving Equity
    A Maryland initiative for preventing foreclosures due to subprime and "exotic" mortgage problems.  Site contains a downloadable consumer information kit which includes foreclosure prevention measures and steps to take before meeting with a housing advisor or lending officer.

  • Maryland State Bar Association-Foreclosure Proceedings
    A new foreclosure law went into effect in Maryland on April 4, 2008 and any foreclosure action filed after that date must comply with the new law.  The foreclosure process and your rights in that process under the new law are outlined on this site.
     

  • Mortgage Foreclosure Assistance
    In April 2008 Maryland enacted emergency legislation in response to the current housing crisis. The Peoples Law Library has created a powerful portal of information to help those threatened with the loss of their homes.

    Extensive information about Maryland's nursing homes including facility characteristics such as bed size and services available, quality measures obtained from the federal CMS Nursing Home Compare (opens in new window), results of family satisfaction surveys, and results of on-site surveys performed by the State Office of Health Care Quality.

    Contains information, resources and access to providers of senior care by zipcode. Includes assisted living, home care and hospice care among other options. Message boards, user and expert authored blogs, and a question and answer section called 'Ask the Experts'. All home care, senior housing and hospice providers in your local area are pre-screened.
     

  • Nursing Home Compare
    Contains quality of care information on every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country.
