In Maryland, the Baltimore County Department of Social Services handle the eligibilitys determination for ( A B D ) and ( FAC ) categories. Paperwork needed. Pregnant women or persons wishing to apply for their children under the age of 19 may apply at the Department of Social Services or through the Health Department.

A program of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Family Health Administration. Helps low-income, uninsured or underinsured Marylanders ages 0 to 21 years get specialty care for a diagnosed ( or suspected ) chronic illness or disability that needs medical evaluation and / or treatment;
Services include visits to a specialist, hospitalizations, surgeries, medications, therapies, lab work, x-rays, and medical equipment. C M S does not cover routine check-ups or immunizations, sick visits, emergency services, routine dental care, or mental health services. Online application is available on their website.

The Maryland Children’s Health Program ( M C H P ) gives full health benefits for children up to age 19, who are not eligible for Medicaid, for pregnant women of any age who meet the income guidelines, and uninsured. M C H P enrollees obtain care from a variety of managed care organizations ( M C Os) through the Maryland HealthChoice Program. Provides preventive health services for children such as regular check-ups, immunizations, lab work and tests, prescription drugs, dental and vision services. Provides health care for pregnant women and their children, including prenatal and post-partum doctor visits, lab work and tests, prescription medicines ( including vitamins ), and more.

Provides free visits to a family doctor, also called a primary care provider or P C P, certain outpatient mental health services, and lower-priced or no-cost prescription drugs for certain low income eligible Maryland residents. If you qualify for the program, you will be required to join a managed care organization ( M C O ). There is no fee to enroll, no deductibles. You may need to pay a co-pay for some prescriptions. Remember that pharmacists can deny prescriptions if you do not pay the required co-pay. PAC does not pay for hospital stays, emergency room visits, or specialty care.
You need to be age 19 or over, not eligible for Medicare, and a United States citizen or a qualified alien who meets all requirements for benefits. If in a household of more than one person, call to see if you meet income guidelines. Your assets can’t be more than $6,000.

Provides free vision exams and glasses to qualified low-income, uninsured children through issuing of a gift certificate to be used with V S P network doctor. The program operates nationally through a network of community partners who identify children in need and V S P network doctors who provide the eyecare services.

Offered through American Optometric Association, the program applies to those who do not qualify for government aid or private health care assistance that covers the cost of routine eye or vision care, VISION USA provides basic eye health and vision care services free of charge to uninsured, low-income people and their families. An ecumenical program that provides emergency payment for prescriptions and help in obtaining medical supplies for needy families in the Towson area. Financial assistance is available to those in zip code area bounded by zones 21210, 21212 and 21239 on the south, west to Falls Road, east to include all of 21234 and north to the state line.
Baltimore County Prescription Discount Card
A card that can be used at participating pharmacies [ P D F ] to obtain prescription medications at a discounted cost. Free enrollment for County residents. This plan is not insurance.

Several major drug companies have created a joint website that allows you to apply for a card (TogetherRx Access) that offers discounts on medications manufactured by these companies. You use the card to purchase the drugs at your local pharmacy. To qualify, may not be eligible for Medicare or Medicaid and must have no other prescription drug coverage. Most of the companies have household income limits. You may apply online, by printing out the application and mailing it, or by phone.

An emergency assistance cooperative organization designed by member churches to offer financial help to individuals and families in need in and around the following zip codes for Northern Baltimore County / Cockeysville area: 21030, 21031, 21093, 21111, 21131, 21136, 21152. Clients must provide documentation from their medical provider to support request for emergency financial assistance.
