Branches
Maryland law requires that young people remain in school until they
are 16 years old. If you are out of school and wish to get your General
Education Diploma (GED)/high
school equivalency, continue your education at one of the Evening/Saturday
High Schools or other alternative diploma programs.

program. The program includes parenting education, parent and child
interaction time, home visits, family nights and field trips. Even Start has centers throughout Baltimore County.

For adults and high school students who wish to take or accelerate their
ninth through twelfth grade courses. Program gives students expelled
from day school an opportunity to modify unacceptable behavior, develop
good study skills, and demonstrate a sincere willingness to return to
the day school. Also, open to adults age 16 and over who are no longer
in day school.

The
Community College of Baltimore County offers a variety of courses that use

A federal agency which promotes community service to
address a wide range of social problems. The Maryland Delaware State office
manages the following volunteer programs: RSVP or Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program, FGP or Foster Grandparent Program; SCP or Senior
Companion Program; AmeriCorps*VISTA or Volunteer in Service to America. AmeriCorps members,
seventeen and older, serve in their community. For a term of
service with AmeriCorps, members can earn an education award that can be
used to pay for college tuition or to pay back student loans.

The State has financial aid programs in the form of grants, scholarships and
other awards for students who want to further their education beyond high
school. Aid programs may be merit-based and/or need-based. Each year, you
must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By filing a FAFSA, you will be considered for State of Maryland
financial aid. Check with all the colleges you are considering applying to
for their financial aid requirements and deadlines. They may have
supplemental forms you need to complete.
